After much deliberation and discussion with the site owners regarding the extreme weather, sadly it has become necessary to rearrange VanWest.

As we’re sure you’ll appreciate, this was a very tough decision but the recent persistent rain means that there’s no way the ground can sustain the volume of traffic and your safety and that of our staff is our main priority.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but are sure you understand.

The good news is that we have been able to rearrange the show at the same location over the weekend of 14th-16th September 2012. Please be assured that the show’s theme, entertainment and everything else will remain the same and we very much hope that you can still come along and have a great weekend with us, albeit later in the year.

All the tickets and pitches you now hold will remain valid for 14th-16th September, so keep them in that safe place for a bit longer. If you can’t make the new date in 2012, your tickets will be valid for VanWest 2013. If this is the case, please drop us a line or, indeed if you have any questions, just send us an email.

We are in the process of contacting everyone personally who has booked and are posting messages on Facebook and as many forums as we can but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, can you help to pass the message on. We would really appreciate your support in this – we need to get the word around to those who haven’t booked to try to catch those who are intend coming to VanWest on spec.

The Olympic torch is passing through Bodmin on Saturday 19th and there
will be events taking place during the afternoon in Fair Park

I’ve spoken to Linda at Higher Golla Camp Site to see if members of the club can camp over the RTTS weekend. This is also the Diamond Jubillee Bank Holiday and the first weekend of the school half term She’s very happy to accommodate us. I’ve advised her that we’ll be telling members to book directly with her. I’ve said there may be 10-15 vans.

CVWOC Club Camping over the Run To The Sun / Diamond Jubillee Weekend – Friday 1st June to Tuesday 5th June

Camping has been arranged over the RTTS / Diamond Jubilee Weekend at Higher Golla Touring Park, Penhallow, near Peranporth. If you would like to camp with the club please contact the owners Linda and Trevor and book yourselves in for the nights you are available.

It is £9 for a pitch, £2 per adult and £1.50 for children under 10.

Please mention that you are with the CVWOC and they will ensure club members camp together. There are currently plenty of pitches available, but please book asap as they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The Dub Vacation is a family friendly VW enthusiast camping and caravan holiday culminating in a show. With a full week of activities and excursions, the entire week’s holiday package averages less than £60 per person including the weekend show! Conceived and developed by Brett Hawksbee, this event has been 25 years in the making, being by far the most ambitious and potentially the most enjoyable week for VW lovers in the quarter of a century since the first Bug Jam! It’s an absolute ‘must do’ if you are looking for a low cost family holiday or .a week’s camping with groups of friends. (Or maybe as an annual ‘VW club holiday’.

From the 6th to the 12th August 2012, the Dub Vacation venue, 25 miles from the Suffolk Coast, will become ‘Volksburg’ a temporary community of VW enthusiasts and families. Pitches are available for campervans, cars and tents, or a combination of both. Touring caravan plots are also available. The range of FREE activities for all the family is immense. Archery, Hovercraft Driving, Laser Clay Shooting, Cruises to the Suffolk Coast, Dance, Zumba & Fitness classes, Music Workshops, Car Maintenance and Craft Workshops, the list goes on.The holiday location has a host of permanent facilities for the entire family. The complex includes two fishing lakes, a nine hole golf course, driving range, putting, ‘crazy golf’, an Owl and Birds of Prey centre, petting zoo, shops, restaurant, fitness centre, even a post office.

Dub Vacation offers a variety of activities for all the family, throughout each day, with a huge range of workshops and daily actvities, followed by evenings around the camp fire, with storytellers for children, as well as bands and solo acoustic artists. Each day will include a day long feature activity such as Archery, laser clay shoot etc. The children’s treasure hunt and other kid’s activities run every day throughout the week.
